Children Growing and Learning Their Way
In an age of what some call "modern Parenting" kids have all of their activities organized for them. Especially for young children it's a good idea to let them do a lot of exploration and use their imaginations. By just playing they are able to be happy and capable people and learn valued skills for adulthood. Structured activities while helping them learn how to think, can limit them on the creative side of development. Try having a few organize activities but alway allow time for free-time play.
Taking Care of Your Health While it's Being Reformed
Healthcare in the US is not the best oiled machine. It's a struggle for most to pay healthcare bills and many avoid going to doctors because of the expense. The best thing you can do in these times is to take better care of yourself and concentrate on preventative measures to stay healthy. SMall things can make a big difference like eating a healthy diet, taking a multivitamin, and getting plenty of exercise. Until there is some real change with the healthcare system it's really up to us to keep ourselves healthy.
Medical Marijuana Pros and Cons
It's been a debate for a long time on whether or not marijuana is a good solution to treat certain health issues. For many it helps with headaches, the pain and nausea of cancer and pain from a variety of sources. On the other side of things, marijuana can contribute to respiratory problems, insomnia, and mental effects like memory loss. In order to use marijuana for medical purposes it is recommended that it's vaporized. It's an effective way to get THC without the carbon monoxide. If one finds that medications they are taking have bad side effects or are not helping with their issue they may want to keep medical marijuana in mind.
Toddler Nutrition
It can be hard when your toddler seems to only want to eat things that are not the most healthy. Toddlers love to dip things so try giving them carrots with ranch dip or ketchup. If they like grilled cheese use a healthy bread and try to sneak in some spinach. Make their food fun like making a face with fruit or having them do it before they eat it. Make "treats" be a honey stick, a fruit cereal bar, or a small lollipop. Keeping a balanced diet is important but that doesn't mean they can't eat some less healthy food every once in a while.
Leaving Children in Cars
I am hearing about this happening more and more, children being left in cars and end up dying. I really don't understand how this can happen, or what parents think. A child should not be left in the car alone and especially not in the heat of the summer time. This really is not something that should be happening and can easily be avoided. If parents find it difficult to run errands with their children, they should find other alternatives, leaving them with someone or bringing someone along that can help take care of them while they are running those errands.
Get in Shape With a Friend
It can be hard to keep up your diet and exercise routine, why not try doing it with a friend? Having the support of a friend while you are maintaining a healthy diet and regular exercise make it a lot easier and more fun. You are less likely to feel isolated. Together you can make plans for workouts, walks, or bike rides. You can have each other's back when one wants to eat that basket of fries. You know you can count on someone to be your cheerleader.
