Preventing Alzheimer's Disease

One out of every 10 people over the age of 65 has Alzheimer's. In order to become a statistic there are some things that can be done to prevent or slow it down. Aspirin can prevent inflamed brain tissue that can contribute to Alzheimer's. Vitamin E has been show to help those with the disease to take care of themselves for seven months longer than those who did not take the vitamin. Beta Carotene can protect against memory loss and forms of dementia, it can be found in carrots, spinach and broccoli. For more ways to reduce the risk check out this healthy living blog.

Siblings Sharing a Room

This can either work out really well or cause a lot of problems that make it too much of a challenge. Siblings that share a room can learn a lot of negotiation and cooperation. One may encourage the other to do positive things, like if one likes to read the other may follow. The biggest plus is at night time where they are not alone and are less likely to become scared at bed time. The down side can be that one may get up several times at night, especially if they are still pretty young. If the children have different temperaments then it may not work very well. If you have older children try talking with them first to feel out whether it may be a good idea or not. You may even have them try a few "sleep over" nights in the same room to see how it works.
