Eating Healthy on the Road

It can be easy to just get some snack foods at the 7-eleven or the gas station when you're road tripping, but you don't want to get into that habit. If you must stop at a gas station look for refrigerated things with an expiration date. Nowadays fast food places have salads and sandwiches, if you must have the burger try the kid's meal. You can stop at a greasy spoon diner that usually serves breakfast all day or very late in the afternoon and should have healthy options like oatmeal, or a veggie omelette. You are sure to find a mexican restaurant which usually has many healthy options and have some guacamole to get some healthy fats. if you can find a deli or a subway you will be able to build your own sandwich. Another great idea is to bring as much of your own food as you can. pack a cooler with things that need to stay cold and bring snacks like nuts and dried fruit. You can save some money this way as well having your own stash and won't be left with nothing if you are driving late at night and there is no place to stop to eat.
