Helicopter Parenting Can Back Fire

Many parents these days over schedule and are over involved with their children. This way of parenting can back fire causing them to rebel and not engage in these activities and even avoid spending time with you. Of course as a parent you want the best for your child, but by over booking them in endless activities you may be missing what's most important for them, you. It's important to let them choose their activities and balance out their time effectively so that they have plenty of free time also. Spending time with them is crucial for creating and keeping a connection with them. You want to be supportive and listen, but not overbearing and hovering. They will appreciate the freedom you give them and will be more willing to come to you when they are dealing wit problems or even just to spend time with you.
