Self–talk refers to the dialogue that goes on inside your head when faced with conflict or life challenges or even simple day-to-day concerns. This "voice in your head" has a running commentary about everything you do. It never lets anything go by with out some comment, remark or evaluation. Most of them negative.

Imagine that you are considering eating the last piece of your double devil's food chocolate birthday cake. You hear that voice say, "hey, you have been eating healthy, exercising and that one piece of cake won't hurt". So, you go to the kitchen and sit down to treat yourself to this piece of cake. While you are eating it, you enjoy it immensely. After you are finished, the first thing you hear that voice say is, "You shouldn't have eaten that cake." And so it goes. Notice that this voice has something negative to say about everything!

Now you can take an online class that will assist you in "taming" that voice. It is part of you, but you can learn how to minimize its influence on your life. This book study class utilizes "Taming Your Gremlin, A Guide to Enjoying Yourself," a book by Richard D. Carson. In this class you will be entertained as you learn that you are not the voice in your head or "the gremlin" as Richard Carson calls "him".

Joining this book study will support you in putting the information from the book into action to actually make a difference in your life. Reading the book is not enough, doing the processes and practicing will. And, having a coach while you do it can give you just the nudge you need to actually experience results.

HOW THE CLASS WORKS
• You receive the book "Taming Your Gremlin" free when your register for the class.
• Each new chapter overview will be available to you 6 days after you have accessed the last one so you have time to process the information and practice the techniques.
• Use the week to read the corresponding chapter. Read and post comments or questions on the discussion board.
• There is no specific "class time" that you must be at your computer.
• You have total flexibility and can progress at your own pace. If you fall behind or skip a week for any reason you can catch up the following week. As each new overview is added it will remain available throughout the length of the class.

FACILITATOR
Do you notice that you often feel like you can't do anything without the constant negative dialogue in your head? Always critical, sabotaging your best efforts? Do you wonder if "peace of mind" was just a meaningless phrase coined by someone who did not live in the real world? Or would you just like to enjoy life more without spending thousands of dollars on therapy and self-help books.

In my counseling practice, I found that teaching my clients how to manage their negative self-talk created a profound change in the way a they related to themselves and the world. The book that we will be using in this book study class is a light hearted even entertaining way to do just that. Having recommended it to my clients and seeing the positive results is the reason I am offering this class online.

It is one thing to read a book but quite another to actually put into practice what you find there. There are plenty of self-help books available, and if reading them was all it took, we would all be transformed into peaceful, happy people. Having access to a coach who can answer your questions, clarify the material and just be encouraging can make all the difference. Information without action does not produce results.

Feel free to review my credentials. I encourage you to take a step toward experiencing yourself in a positive joyful way and transforming your relationship with yourself from enemy to friend.

The online Taming Your Mind class is educational in nature and uses the Taming Your Gremlin book as source material. The class is not intended to be psychotherapy. If you feel you have specific mental health needs please consult your health care professional.
