Not only do we understand how you feel but we can help. People react differently to stress. Some feel a lot in reaction to stress and others don't. As a doctor friend of mine said, "Some people have the bodies of plow horses and some have bodies like race horses." He was referring to the popular notion of 'being high strung' as the reason someone is very reactive to stress. If you are one of those people who feel stress easily learning how to counteract the effects of stress will make a big difference in your quality of life. Living life feeling nervous and anxious all the time is not very appealing.

The Mind
Your mind and its automatic ways of thinking is a major source of stress. Learning how to interrupt this process and gives you much better control over your stress.

The Body
Your body reacts strongly to stress. A short-term reaction to an immediate stressful situation is normal and not harmful, particularly when the stressful event resolves itself quickly. However, long term frustrating situations can lead to significant negative physical symptoms interfering with your quality of life. Even worse, the physical symptoms of stress can stay present long after the cause of that stress is over.

The focus of this class is to learn how to how to counteract the negative effects of stress by taking charge and returning your body to normal functioning. You will learn how to charge your body with relaxation in the same way your body is now charged with stress. You can fill your body with relaxation just like the electrical charge of a battery and this 'relaxation charge' neutralizes the 'charge of stress' and helps keep your body functioning normally. Better yet, you can recharge your body regularly with relaxation, which keeps the level of stress permanently reduced.

This class is designed to teach you how counteract the effects of stress, return your body to normal functioning and decrease the physical and emotional distress you feel.

Each week a new topic will be introduced. A new lesson is available to you one week after you read the last one and each week builds on the last. You take the class at your own pace and have time to practice between lessons. I will be with you every step of the way, you can ask questions throughout the class and I will coach you to help you get the most out of the class.

This is a practical online 8 week course. It is lead by Tom Cobb, Marriage and Family Therapist, Biofeedback Therapist and T'ai Chi Instructor.
