Being able to effectively manage the effects of stress in your life means becoming
the master in dealing with your responses to various events. While you don't
have control over all the events in your life, you can change how you respond
to them.
The Mind
Your mind and its automatic ways of thinking is a major source of stress. Learning
how to interrupt this process and gives you much better control over your
stress.
The Body
Your body reacts strongly to stress. A short-term reaction to an immediate
stressful situation is normal and not harmful, particularly when the stressful
event resolves itself quickly. However, long term frustrating situations
can lead to significant negative physical symptoms interfering with your
quality of life. Even worse, the physical symptoms of stress can stay present
long after the cause of that stress is over.
The focus of this class is to learn how to take charge and return your body
to normal functioning, and then how to counteract the negative effects of stress.
You will learn how to charge your body with relaxation in the same way your
body is now charged with stress. You can fill your body with relaxation just
like the electrical charge of a battery and this 'relaxation charge' neutralizes
the 'charge of stress' and helps keep your body functioning normally. Better
yet, you can recharge your body regularly with relaxation, which keeps the
level of stress permanently reduced.
This class is designed
to teach you how counteract the effects of stress,
return your body to normal functioning and decrease
the physical and emotional distress you feel. Each week a new topic will be introduced. A new lesson
is available to you one week after you read the last
one and each week builds on the last. You take the class
at your own pace and have time to practice between lessons.
I will be with you every step of the way, you can ask
questions throughout the class and I will coach you to
help you get the most out of the class.
This is a practical online 8 week course. It is lead by Tom
